First time ever listening 👌🏼

My approach ist enoughness , the hour of power (doing everything just after getting up) , 80/20 rule, lists , frame it differently or just giving me allowance to ..

What a lucky granddaughter, to get something handmade from natural fibers instead of mass-produced plastic. She'll cherish it for the rest of her life. And your Pirate-wisdom is growing: "Enoughness" brings so much peace, while "Deep Adaptation" is a tactic I should adopt for the next four years here in the U.S. Very different from "acceptance", it might just keep me sane.

A warm cuddle to you and the piggies!

I like the idea of small packets of doing what I can in the time of year our sun doesn't give us much energy. Germans folklore speaks of the lowkey traditions of the Rauhnaechte, perhaps from pagan times, so these days when the sun is at its nadir and we too need to conservev energy. Yet small bursts of doing stuff is energising I find. Good to know I am not alone. Enough is just enough.

Your reflection on 'enoughness' versus abundance struck a particularly stoic chord with me. There's profound wisdom in finding contentment in sufficiency rather than endless pursuit - something Marcus Aurelius would surely appreciate. Your four half-hours system is a perfect example of focusing on what's within our control: we can't change the winter's darkness or cold, but we can adapt our approach to work within its constraints. The way you've transformed potential idleness into purposeful activity, while accepting the natural rhythm of the season, shows practical wisdom at its finest. Keep embracing that measured approach to winter's challenges.

I have a necklace with enough on it. Meaning good enough is good enough, I have had enough, I am enough depending on my mood. I like the 4x30mins. I do “what 3 things?” So what 3 things am I going to get done today. I find there is something about 3 that works for me - when I go for a run it has to be 3 bursts with walking breaks. The run length doesn’t matter just there has to be 3. If the 4 stops working play with the 3 (but 4 30min slots is also pleasingly right amount. 2hour minimum but your brain likely gets tricked into more). Oh and you should do Ta Da lists not To Do lists- list what you achieved last week in your blog not what you intend to do next week. Your plans for the next week always made me smile because they always seemed so much more than realistically possible in a week. Finally my other “just fucking do it” hack that is working on my brain is to do the baby step without committing to the big step. So “I’m just getting my swimming costume ready I’m not necessarily going swimming, I’m just getting in the car to go but I’m not necessarily going… and before I know it I’ve spent an hour in my swimming lesson having the best time. But I’m too easy to quit so this has kept me up with my swimming lessons for a year. So choose a task you aren’t keen on and work out some nudge tasks to get you adjacent to it it and before you know it you are doing the thing!

Glad you are past the Dont’t Die. Stage.
