You can harvest most chili peppers when they are green or just turning. String them up and hang to dry. They turn color as they dry

I know the feeling - September is also my birthday month!

I love this time of year...except my eyes go crazy at the market and I usually end up buying too much...and that lands me in the same general area as you - pickling and tomato sauces... Let me know if you need or want any chili peppers - our plants went crazy this year and the peppers are generally much spicier. Jalapeno peppers and little (very spicy) pepperoncini are the bumper crop leaders...

Thanks for putting our your weekly newsletter - always a highlight on Monday morning...or whenever I have a chance to read it!

Don't forget to eat!

You know what it's like - so busy cooking that I forget to eat :)

I just did my first chilli harvest. Thing is, I grew them from seed I saved, but forgot to label. So I have no idea if they are supposed to go red or not. They certainly don't seem to be all that bothered, and they are plenty interesting enough already! I'm gonna leave some and see what happens, but I just made a bunch of tomato / chilli sauces and I threw a load in with my gherkin pickles as well :D

Dear Pirate, as You want the best of humanity in the Barracks, then I can imagine how grateful You would be if I sent You some cheap Polish romantic comedies to Your cinema collection. No need to thank me.

Thank you, Laura. I'm going to try to remember the audio thing every week. I might forget. I know a lot of people now-a-days prefer the podcast format to the reading things format.

I wonder if I should release the audio narration as a podcast? It seems a little short and uninteresting for that... ?
