KW-02 Return to Winter

Winter came back again. It seems that my worries for the fruit trees were not so well founded. At least I hope not. If everything manages to go back to sleep again, we might be on for another excellent year in the soft fruit and jam department.
I have visitors again. Twice in the winter! Crazy talk. Say hi to Dan and Maria.
Other than Long Walks in the Forest, I haven’t done all that much. Fed the piggers, chopped wood and make an Instagram Reel about it, lots of cleaning.
And I tried a tonne of different ways to fold seed bags. Some online, some out of my head. I have now finalised the production and will no doubt make a reel about that as well. And I bought a The Barracks rubber stamp which was nice.
This is the time of year when I do all my cooking on wood. Yesterday, with knees burning orange, I cooked a thing with an aubergine, standing at the stove while watching snowflakes as big as my fist silently wafting past the silver birches in front of the window. Truly beautiful.
The work for the week is probably something along the lines of:
Finish the damn composting toilet and bring it inside
Make the frame for the sink in the kitchen
Lots of boring paperwork things that I’ve been putting off
Make a load of seed bags and make a Reel out of it
I’ve had a great idea for a nice little internet tool thing as well, so I am thinking of coming out of computing retirement and learning a new language because it’s cool and making that thing.

Oh, and finally, I’m going to do the big old plan of the growing year. I’m really excited about the gardening in 2022. It’s going to the primary focus of everything for many months. Are you going to be trying to grow something new or exciting this year? Let me know in the comments
