Dear Paid Subscribers to the Barracks Newsletter,
My favourite feedback on the newsletter is always of the “thank you for the good vibes” kind. I do all that I can to be non-political, non-doomerist, garden-focussed and positive. This week, with the insane heat, the insane politics of the UK and Europe; the imploding financial situation worldwide and the unmistakeable signs of collapse starting around us, it’s been difficult. I don’t think I quite hit it, but I gave it the best I had.
We are now on 165 subscribers, 12 of which (that’s you, if you are reading this!) contribute financially.
I hope to grow, but I don’t expect to ever be able to finance the piggies, or buy the rum* I need off the back of the newsletter, but the fact that you beautiful dozen have all decided to show your support in a material way really means the world to me. In my most doomerist and socially extreme-distanced moments, you are a source of enormous comfort, and I needed to express my gratitude.
